Course Summary: This curriculum is designed to provide hospital staff with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively manage a disaster or emergency event within their facility using the Hospital Incident Command System concepts and resources. This course will assist facilities with compliance related to NIMS and the Department of Homeland Security, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agency mandates and standards.
The course can be customized to meet the training needs of hospital staff depending on their familiarity and knowledge of HICS along with the position they would potentially fill. Intermediate and advanced level HICS courses and/or section-specific workshops can be conducted for staff with a need for more in-depth, detailed information related to incident command principles.
Course Length / Hours: 4 Hours.
Topics May Include: The curriculum will incorporate FEMA courses IS 100, 200, 700 and 800 along with concepts such as the “Planning P” and other incident command philosophies.
